JULIAN ALAPHILIPPE – Soudal Quick Step
Two-time world champion (2020 and 2021), Julian Alaphilippe is an explosive rider full of panache, capable of perking up the biggest races. Stage winner in the Tour de France, Milan San Remo and the Flèche Wallonne, his presence guarantees a great show.
ADAM YATES – UAE Team Emirates
Adam Yates, like his twin brother Simon, is one of the most impressive riders in the world peloton. A ten-time stage winner in Grand Tours, this year he finished third on the Tour de France podium, ahead of fourth-placed Simon.
MICHAEL MATTHEWS – Team Jayco AlUla
After 2 podiums in Québec City, the Australian puncheur won the GP de Québec and the GP de Montréal in 2018. He carries his momentum into 2019 by winning the GP de Québec. A ten-time stage winner in the Grand Tours, he is one of the best puncheurs in the peloton.
GREG VAN AVERMAET – AG2R Citroën Team
A regular at the GPCQM, which he has competed in on 9 occasions, he has claimed 6 podium finishes in Québec City and 3 in Montréal. In the metropolis, he reached the top step of the podium in 2019, as well as in 2016 as reigning Olympic champion. 2023 will mark his final season.
BENOÎT COSNEFROY – AG2R Citroën Team
At the end of a breathtaking finale, the French rider, U23 world champion in 2017, achieved the greatest success of his career in Québec City. A puncheur and specialist in difficult finishes, he dreams of repeating this victory on the Grande Allée.
MICHAEL WOODS – Israël-Premier Tech
Until 2007, Michaël Woods was one of Canada’s most promising track and field athletes, holding junior records in middle-distance running. Having turned to cycling after an injury, he is now a recognized professional, winning major races including the ninth stage of the Tour de France 2023 at the summit of the infamous Puy-de-Dome.
HUGO HOULE – Israel-Premier Tech
The first Quebecer to win a stage of the Tour de France in 2022, Hugo Houle, from Sainte-Perpétue, has been an important rider in the international peloton since 2011. After a historic stage win at the Tour de France 2022, he’s dreaming of making his mark at his ninth GPCQM.
GUILLAUME BOIVIN – Israel-Premier Tech
Three-time Canadian champion Guillaume Boivin will compete in his third Tour de France in 2023. A field hockey player until the age of 16, he found in cycling a way to express his athletic abilities, where his courage and strength are assets. He finished ninth at Paris-Roubaix in 2021.
